Management Due Diligence: Case Study

Three young men set up this business. Their hard work was rewarded with a profitable fledgling business. They wanted more. They approached a private equity firm with a view to buying more businesses. The firm wanted to know what the risks of investing in this young team might be. Kisane Prutton was brought in. Through a combination of psychometric testing, interviews and 360 degree reviews, she was able to provide answers to the following questions:

  • What were the strengths and weaknesses of the individuals: were they capable of delivering the business plan? Were they capable of managing, motivating and leading a growing workforce?
  • What were the strengths and weaknesses of the team: how complete was the team? Were there any skills deficits, were there any tensions, what sort of Non Executive Director might complement their needs?
  • What were the risks of the team not delivering expectations?
